Frequently Asked Questions
Can you use the FIT and SKIN together?
Ideally, both products should not be taken together. If you do wish to do so, we recommend taking SIRO Collagen FIT (3 scoops) on the day of your workout/exercise session and SIRO Collagen SKIN (2 scoops or 1 shot) on the other days. We recommend taking both formulas as part of your morning routine.
What is the difference between marine (SKIN) and bovine (FIT)?
Fish collagen and bovine collagen are both forms of collagen, a protein important for skin, joints, and connective tissue. The main difference lies in the source and properties.
Fish collagen: is extracted from the scales, mucous membranes, and bones of fish, usually from fish remains. It is often considered beneficial because it is easily absorbed by the body (high bioavailability) and has a lower allergenic potential. Fish collagen primarily contains type I collagen, which is found in large quantities in skin, hair, nails, and bone tissue. Thanks to its smaller and more uniform molecular size, fish collagen is absorbed quickly and efficiently by the body, making it particularly suitable for supporting healthy and smooth skin and reducing wrinkles.
Bovine collagen: comes from the skin, bones, and connective tissues of livestock, usually cattle. It primarily contains type I and type III collagen, which also contribute to skin and muscle growth. Bovine collagen consists of a mix of type I and type III collagen. Type III is primarily found in connective tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and muscles. These collagen fibers have a different structure and function, namely supporting and strengthening tissues under tension. Bovine collagen is therefore often used to repair and strengthen these connective tissues.
What is included in the FIT and what is it good for?
The SiRo Collagen FIT contains 15 grams of collagen peptides (bovine), 120 mg of vitamin C, calcium, vitamin D, and manganese. We've added vitamin C to our collagen supplement because it helps naturally produce collagen and also supports our immunity. Calcium contributes to the strength of our bone structure. The sunshine vitamin D is a precursor to calcium and, in turn, contributes to stronger bones. Manganese helps maintain our connective tissue.
What is in the SKIN and what is it good for?
SiRo Collagen SKIN contains 10 grams of collagen peptides (marine), 80 mg of vitamin C, selenium, zinc, and copper. The collagen supports firmer and more elastic skin. Vitamin C is added for optimal absorption of our collagen peptide and will also support our immunity. Zinc and selenium contribute to stronger nails and shiny hair. Copper, in turn, contributes to better pigmentation of our hair and skin.
I can't find my spoon in the jar, what should I do?
The spoon is always inside the jar. Due to the transport process, it may no longer be visible from above the powder. Stirring the powder briefly with a longer object (e.g., a knife) will quickly reveal the spoon.
Can I take lectures during pregnancy?
The answer here is a resounding YES. Since collagen is a naturally occurring protein, it's certainly safe to take it during pregnancy. However, we do recommend continuing to take it after pregnancy, as it benefits skin firmness and elasticity.
How long does it take for collagen to take effect?
Scientifically speaking, the effects only become apparent after 56 days, or about two months. Ideally, a three-month course of treatment, followed by a week to allow your body to return to homeostasis, is recommended. Clinically, we see and hear that results are achieved more quickly. In people with joint pain, we see pain reduction after just one week of taking collagen. We also see that some people's skin looks brighter after just one month. We always recommend combining this with a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet.
