Our Collagen

The Importance of Collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and forms the absolute basis of a healthy lifestyle. Its name originates from the Greek word κολλώ (colla = glue), which perfectly describes its primary function: to bind and strengthen our tissues in a three-dimensional network (the collagen matrix).

What Do Collagen Peptides Do?

By adding high-quality collagen peptides – derived from hydrolyzed collagen – to your daily routine, you stimulate your body's natural collagen production. This offers versatile support for your overall vitality:

  • Structure & Repair: Reduces inflammation and accelerates tissue repair.
  • Movement: Improves the health of joints, tendons, and ligaments.
  • Appearance: Ensures stronger, more elastic skin and healthier hair and nails.

The 3 Most Important Types of Collagen

Although there are 28 types, approximately 90% of our body's collagen consists of type I.

Type I, II and III or Collagen

  • Type I: Essential for skin, bones, tendons, and ligaments. Improves skin elasticity and promotes bone strengthening and injury recovery.
  • Type II: The key to smooth movement. Found primarily in joints, cartilage, and intervertebral discs.
  • Type III: Often works with Type I and is crucial for the health of blood vessels, organs, and effective wound healing.

Different Kinds & Sources

  • Type I - Fish Collagen (Marine): The purest (and most expensive) form of collagen. It is extracted from the scales and bones of fish and primarily contains Type I and Type II.
  • Type II - Bovine Collagen (Bovine): Structurally closest to human. It is extracted from the skin or bones of cattle and primarily contains Type I and Type III.
  • Type III - Porcine Collagen: Extracted from the skin and bones of pigs.

The Foundation of SiRo

We don't guess; we follow the data. The SiRo ritual is built on groundbreaking clinical studies of collagen synthesis. Research has shown that the body not only needs the right nutrients but also the correct dosage and timing to truly repair tissue.

The “15g Standard”

The study on which our protocol is based discovered a significant “threshold effect.” While 5g of collagen showed only minimal results, a dosage of 15g—specifically in combination with 50mg Vitamin C—resulted in an almost doubling of collagen production (PINP levels) compared to a placebo.
